She was born in Chile, but she lived her childhood and youth in Argentina. Her literature is nourished by her experiences as a social worker. She entered her first literary workshop at the age of 40 and published her first book at the age of 52.

She made the decision to publish her first book after a car accident. She recalls that she lost consciousness for several minutes, and when she regained it, without knowing very well where she was or what had happened, the first thing she thought was that she could have died without publishing a book. The intensity of that thought was revealing.

She has received several awards and recognitions, including First Place in the XVI Gonzalo Rojas Short Story Competition (2019) and the Creation Grant from the Book Council for writing Sara (2015). She has been a finalist in the Teresa Hamel Competition of the Society of Writers of Chile (2016), the First Marta Brunet International Short Story Competition of the University of Chile (2022), the Julio C. Cobas Children’s Literary Competition (Ecuador, 2018) and twice finalist in the Santiago en 100 Palabras Competition (2013 and 2020).
