Emi + Emi

Emi + Emi

Two stories about a childhood friendship to celebrate differences and reflect on gender identity and equality.

Two short stories make up this new picture book by author Paula Bombara.
Emi moves to a new house, so she changes schools. On the first day of school she sits next to Emi. That chance and other coincidences will make them inseparable. Emi and Emi like difficult questions, secret greetings and games.
Despite their differences, together they will live adventures, share adorable moments, like the birth of kittens, laugh and get excited about every experience. Because that’s what friends do, right?
The work is written in such a way that the gender of the characters is not identified. With this, the author wants to emphasize the importance of gender equity and equal opportunities.
