We’re crossing the border.
It’s the beginning of a long journey, just like the days when my tooth used to hurt, a tooth that now has eyes and a mouth painted on it, as if it were an imaginary being on a box by my bedside.
Diana will soon be eleven years old. She and her brother Juan travel hidden in a van and then in a boat to cross the border. It is a long journey that will take them away from home in order to meet their mother, who is waiting for them on the other side of the river.
A story that can be read from different layers, allowing the reader, whether a child or an adult, to fill in the silences and multiple meanings.
