In my Neighbourhood

My neighbourhood is quiet when it rains.
If it doesn’t rain, there is noise on the terrace.
But, there is more noise when my neighbour sleeps.

The chores of the house, the sounds coming from the flat next door, the anger of the greengrocer and the sounds of the street in the voice of an inhabitant who weaves a story that fills the word community with meaning. With rhythm and the repetition of a few key words, each page anticipates the movement or emotion of the next. It is a neighbourhood full of activity and friendship. A community where people cross paths and go their own way, but where everyone is also special in their characteristics, in their way of life.
Graphite pencils and acrylics form a digital collage of different textures, wefts and colours that enchant in their way of portraying the simple and everyday with humour and beauty.
